'Building Confidence Through Creativity'
Role play is how children make sense of their world, acting out experiences, ideas or stories. The Pop Up Play Town assists children in doing exactly that with many different real life areas to explore.
We are a small family run business that will be hosting 'The Pop Up Play Town' in different areas of Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire. We will host in venues such as town and village halls, schools and nurseries and parties at your chosen location.
Role play will ignite the imagination of inquisitive children who love to discover. Research shows a child’s capacity for creative thinking and cognitive flexibility are closely linked to role play. Children must exercise and train their brain’s to imagine as early as possible, so that later on in life they have a good imagination to be able to envision a good book and understand different points of view.
Role play improves communication in children drastically. As they communicate together, they learn from each other, whether it be new words, expressions or phrases and before you know it a whole new vocabulary is built. In turn they subsequently learn to listen. The benefits of these skills are seen later when they start learning to read and write.
Role play has both a stress reliever and soothing effects on a child, this is why a lot of child therapists use it. Children will also learn conflict resolution, for example, you may have two children who want to play the 'villain' in dress up, they will have to come together and brainstorm for a solution, this also helps with teamwork. Another thing that will be hugely beneficial later in life.
Through role play, children are engaging and developing their hand to eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills. Whether they may be running to the rescue to put out a fire, putting on an impressive show or cutting and styling a hair do, they are gaining a lot physically.
Role play naturally gives children scenarios they are yet to face, meaning they have to think outside the box for a solution. This is when they will begin to develop their problem-solving skills.
